The Danish Missions are looking for 32 interns to join our teams across North America (Boston, Chicago, Houston, New York, Toronto, Silicon Valley and Washington D.C.). We are looking for candidates from a broad field of studies that are eager to learn and develop professionally as well as personally. As an intern at a Danish mission in North America, you will get the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learned in class into practice, and at the same time be part of a dedicated and ambitious team working for Denmark abroad. The 6-months internship runs from February 1, 2022 to July 31, 2022.

Who may apply?
You are a Danish national enrolled at a Danish or foreign higher educational institution within a relevant subject, or a foreign national enrolled at a Danish higher educational institution within a relevant subject and have lived in Denmark for a minimum of 3 years. Fluency in English (oral and written) is required. As the primary working language is both Danish and English, ability to read, write and speak Danish is also required. Comfortable office package (PowerPoint, Excel & Word) skills are expected. The candidate should possess an independent drive along with a positive attitude when engaging in new tasks. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, while possessing curiosity and creativity. Being open, credible and observant are important personal characteristics. As the work pace is subject to fluctuation, the candidate should be able to maintain a clear perspective and focus in stressful situations. Interns are responsible for own expenses, i.e. plane tickets and renting of rooms or apartments, but will be granted 4.000 DKK/month towards documented costs, such as rent.

Applicants are welcome to indicate preferred mission (location) for internship, but cannot be guaranteed to be offered an internship at the preferred location. We encourage you to apply for more than one position, and prioritize them in your motivational letter according to your interest and profile. Applications must be in English. Ensuring the safety of colleagues is a key priority and we are monitoring the progression of the Corona virus (Covid-19) and the developing Government guidelines closely. In case of a surge in cases, this may lead to restrictions in terms of being physically present in the office. We will follow the guidelines given from the local authorities at any time, so we cannot guarantee that you will not experience an internship somewhat different from the usual.
