Be aware of the risk of natural disasters in the United States

If you are traveling or staying in the United States, be aware of the risk of natural disasters. The risk of wild fires and hurricanes is especially great in late summer and fall.

There are severe wild fires in large areas of California, Oregon, Washington and other Western states.

Hurricanes and tropical storms can happen along any U.S. coast. The risk is greatest on the East Coast, the Gulf Coast region, as well as the U.S. territories, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Pay attention to natural disaster warnings and stay informed via local authorities and news channels. Always follow the local authorities’ recommendations.

See “Rejsevejledningen for USA” and “” for more information. See also the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ general information regarding the risk of natural disasters.
