Innovation Centre Denmark

The Innovation Centres in Boston and Silicon Valley both offer internships during the spring and fall semesters.

Innovation Center Denmark Boston (3 positions)

 

Would you like to help Danish companies, startups, and universities prosper in the intersection between life sciences, research, technology, and innovation? And at the same time be part of the Danish presence in Boston, home of the most innovative square mile on the planet? Innovation Centre Denmark in Boston (ICDK Boston) is looking for three fall interns!

As our intern, you can expect to develop both on a professional and personal level whilst working in one of the densest innovation eco-systems in the world. The 6-month internship runs from August 1st 2024 until January 31st 2025. We require that you are able to express yourself orally and written in both Danish and English, and that you are currently enrolled in a master’s program in Denmark. The internship is unpaid with a monthly rent support of DKK 4,000.

 

What we expect from you

It is essential that you are curious and embrace working on diverse projects in a dynamic organization. We are looking for someone who thrives in an environment where you have influence on defining and executing day-to-day tasks as well as larger projects and who can work under tight deadlines. We are not looking for any specific study lines, rather we prefer that you are:

  • Interested in R&D, life science, green transition, innovation, tech, and future trends
  • Open-minded with a strong drive to perform individually as well as part of a team
  • A sharp analytical mind and able to interpret and communicate complex information clearly
  • Interested in Denmark’s strongholds within life sciences, digitalization, green transition, and business
  • Familiar with SoMe tools essential to planning and executing campaign strategies and programs, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Positive with a great sense of humor

 

Who are we and what we do we offer?

ICDK Boston is the latest addition to the group of seven Innovation Centres globally. We are a partnership between the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. The Centre bridges research institutions, startups, companies, and capital in Denmark, the Boston ecosystem, and the US East Coast. We aim to accelerate the entry of Danish life science, green tech and digital companies; facilitate knowledge sharing, networks and research cooperation. Our mission is to inspire innovation in Denmark to ultimately promote Denmark’s growth and competitive advantage. As our intern you will:

Internships Fall 2024

We are currently looking for three new interns. The knowledge, skills and interests that you bring with you will highly influence your assigned tasks.

 

1x Innovation, Research and Education Intern

ICDK Boston is responsible for promoting Danish science in Boston and the US East Coast with the aim of establishing even stronger DK-US research collaborations. We work closely with the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science and other stakeholders to connect Danish universities and research based companies to US partners. Especially the current Danish focus on green research is driving our work to find research partners that will help Denmark achieve its ambitious goals in green transition. You will work on research driven tasks and support crossover projects involving companies and startups. You will support in tailoring delegation visits, meetings, etc. through strategic partnerships and collaborations with world-renowned universities such as MIT and relevant institutions in the area.

You will experience the cutting-edge research environment in Boston and assist with the following activities:

  • Promoting Danish research, innovation, and higher education and facilitate research collaborations
  • Collecting, promoting, and disseminating best practice within science, sustainability, technology, innovation, and higher education in the Boston area and the US East Coast
  • Through Entrepreneurship Academy to bring knowledge on entrepreneurial practices at high-ranked US universities to Denmark
  • Promote the Danish Green research agenda and assist public and private organizations develop green transition technology solutions
  • Assisting Danish companies with innovation consultancy

 

2x Innovation and Business Intern

ICDK Boston provides innovation advisory services to Danish companies, startups, and organizations. You will support our team in consulting and facilitating access to the Boston ecosystem and the US East Coast within a wide array of technologies, but with focus on life science, AI, green transition, and sustainability. We arrange both digital and physical events, including but not limited to boot camps, conventions, academies, and master classes. You will assist the team with the following activities:

  • Building and strengthening knowledge, networks and partnerships
  • Arranging delegation visits, scientific roundtables, educational workshops, webinars, meetings, and other activities
  • Exploring emerging trends and preparing reports
  • Assisting Danish companies with innovation consultancy
