The Position

The Trade Council in North America is looking for a highly motivated and qualified intern to assist Danish water and agribusiness companies in the U.S. and Canadian markets. The environment and agribusiness teams support and consult Danish companies and manufacturers wanting to establish and/or expand their North American activities. To do so, we assist with strategic analysis, stakeholder management, export promotion and sales activities.
You will be an integrated part of the teams’ daily work in promoting Danish exports to North America. You will be assisting our industry specialists within water and agribusiness, and gain valuable knowledge in the work of Danish exports within the market for sustainable solutions in water and agribusiness from day one. As an intern you will be included as an important contributor on relevant projects, and will achieve a deep understanding of the North American industry conditions.

Your daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting market analysis
- Data collection
- Connection with Danish and American companies and stakeholders
- Supporting business development projects
- Administrative tasks, which also include helping out with our daily routines

The Candidate

2. Wind Energy Advisory & General Business

The Position
The Trade Council’s Wind Energy Advisory (WEA) and General Business team in North America are looking for a highly motivated and qualified intern to assist Danish companies on the U.S. and Canadian markets. WEA supports and consults Danish onshore and offshore wind companies and manufacturers wanting to establish and/or expand their North American activities. To do so, WEA assists with strategic analysis, planning, business development, export promotion, sales, and corporate establishment. Through the internship, you will be an integrated part of WEA and General Business daily work and support the collaboration between U.S. and Canadian market activities. You will gain valuable knowledge in the work of Danish exports within the wind energy sector and General Business from day one. As an intern, you will be included as an important contributor on relevant projects, and will achieve a deep understanding of the market and industry conditions on the North American market.

Houston

1. Energy and Environment

The Position
As an intern at the Consulate General in Houston, you will be part of a small but dynamic and result-oriented team at the newly established Consulate General. You will become an integral part of the team of advisers and administrators and get a chance to work actively on export and trade promotions within Energy & Environment. 
With a population of 28 million, Texas is the second largest economy in the US and the world’s 10th largest economy. Texas’ size and dynamic growth provides a solid potential for our overall work in helping Danish companies succeed in the US market. We provide business development services for Danish companies, including market insights, market execution and help with establishing a permanent presence on the US market. We succeed through specialization and a strong drive to make things happen.

Your daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Market research, analysis and monitoring incl. mapping of stakeholders, competitors, potential partners, etc.
- Lead generation and outreach to Danish and American customers by phone and email
- Assisting with business development and execution of market strategies for Danish companies
- Planning and coordinating meeting programs and events in both Denmark and USA
- Support in GPA (Global Public Affair) work with local authorities and other relevant stakeholders
- Assisting in administrative work and daily routines incl. website/social media updates

The Candidate

2. Health & Life Science

The Position

As an intern at the Consulate General in Houston, you will be part of a small but dynamic and result-oriented team at the newly established Consulate. Further, you will also be supporting the Marketing & Communication team.

New York

1. Multichannel Commerce and Tech

The Position
Denmark In New York’s Multichannel Commerce and Tech intern will work with Danish companies specialized within design and consumer goods as well as Danish tech, IT and communication technology startups and SMEs. The intern will be nimble and creative as they pivot from helping Danish companies gain an understanding of the US markets to facilitating strategic and hands-on business development services as well as an increasingly extensive focus on public affairs consultancy and facilitation. 
The Multichannel Commerce & Tech intern will be part of a dynamic results-oriented team consisting of six Commercial Advisers and three Commercial Interns.

Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing market and competitor analysis for Danish companies to research their potential for the given product category
- Researching potential partnerships and joint venture developments
- Assisting in business development and growth market strategies
- Assisting in the organization and execution of events, especially in connection with the UN General Assembly
- Developing and executing high-quality presentations
- Conducting research on needed product certifications, approvals, labelling etc
- Presenting market data and other relevant information to Danish companies

The Candidate
For this position, previous knowledge in Multichannel Commerce or Tech is expected. Professional experience in these areas is a plus. 

Additional competencies include:
- Knowledge of Danish design, furniture, fashion and accessories
- Understanding of B2C and B2B markets
- Familiarity with SaaS, cloud, and IoT

2. SDG Global Public Affairs and Sustainable Urban Solutions

The Position
Denmark In New York’s SDG Global Public Affairs and Sustainable Urban Solutions intern will work with some of the largest Danish companies and institutional investors to explore market opportunities and global positioning concerning all of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and United Nations procurement. In addition, the intern will support Danish companies working with the Sustainable Urban Solutions agenda. 
The SDG Global Public Affairs and Sustainable Urban Solutions intern will be part of a dynamic results-oriented team consisting of six Commercial Advisers and three Commercial Interns.

Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Scoping and executing high-level side events and workshops at United Nations Headquarters 
- Conducting business development and growth market strategies
- Assisting in lead generation and outreach to United Nations agencies and Danish companies
- Assisting with the mapping of key stakeholders, the creation of demanding meeting programs and providing logistical support to high-level participants 
- Providing market and competitor analysis for Danish companies to research their potential for the given product category
- Researching potential new partnerships and joint venture development among North American cities and Danish companies
- Coordinating workshops and other events concerning collaboration between North American cities and Danish companies
- Coordinating Export Promotion and trips to Denmark for American interest groups

The Candidate
For this position, familiarity with the United Nations and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a plus. 
Additional competencies include: 
- A commercial and/or economic background and a thorough understanding of the Danish business environment
- An understanding and interest for international political relations and the role of economic diplomacy
- Strong analytical skills
- An understanding of Danish core competencies and framework conditions

1. Green Buildings Advisory & District Energy Advisory

The Position 
We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified intern to assist the Green Buildings Advisory & District Energy Advisory team in Toronto. You will be an integrated part of the team’s daily work, and will be an important contributor on relevant projects. You will get a wealth of experience in the development of business strategies for Danish companies interested in expanding their business activities to Canada, as well as Canadian companies with interest in investing in Denmark. 

Your daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in and support the daily work of the office 
- Support general and sector-specific internal and external communications (e.g. Facebook & LinkedIn posts)
- Support Sustainable Buildings Advisory & District Energy Advisory by carrying out the following activities (varies depending on sector and project):
                 - Desk and field research
                 - Meeting planning and support (virtual and/or in-person)
                 - Preparation of offers and market reports
                 - Partner searches and preparation of Danish trade delegations

Washington DC

1. Trade and Export Promotion (2 positions)

The Position
As an intern you will primarily be working with export promotion within Health, Defense industry and Energy & Environment, but also within the overall framework for Danish-American trade. This includes the network group American-Danish Business Council, who’s  purpose is to promote the cooperation between and the commercial opportunities for the networks Danish and American members. The Embassy is responsible for helping Danish companies across all of The United States, and for coordinating the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs commercial effort in the country. 

You will be an integrated part of the team, and will throughout your internship gain knowledge of: 
- Research, data collection and presentation of American market conditions and economy
- Possibility to visit and create new contacts to American companies, political institutions and organizations
- Knowledge about the American corporate world, social conditions and culture
- Access to the international community in Washington DC and experience the political and economic centre first-hand

2. Food & Agriculture

The Position
The Embassy in Washington DC is looking for an intern to support the work within Food & Agriculture. You will be an integrated part of the team, and will gain insight into the American Food & Agriculture sector, in a close and educational corporation with the specialized team. 

Your daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of reports and analysis for ministries, organizations and companies within Food & Agriculture on relevant political and commercial subjects within the American Food & Agriculture sector
- Attendance of hearings in the Congress, seminars in think-tanks and meetings in various national and international organizations related to the American agricultural and food industry, with the purpose of reporting about trade- and agricultural politics to relevant Danish authorities and organizations
- Analyse specific market conditions and market barriers for Danish food companies

The Candidate
