Although we are known as the Danish Consulate in Miami, we are actually located in Dania Beach, approximately 20 miles north of downtown Miami. This location allows us to assist Danish nationals coming from all of South Florida, including the major destinations of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Naples, and Key West. Our Consulate is located within driving distance of both Miami International Airport and Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale International Airport, as well as the major sea ports Port Miami and Port Everglades.
About South Florida
South Florida is a popular location for tourists and businesspeople. Nearby points of interest include two international airports, two cruise and cargo ship ports, South Beach, the Everglades, and the beautiful Florida Keys. There are many fine hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, cultural centers, and other activities to enjoy in the area.
Our Consulate is located in the city of Dania Beach, which was first settled by Danish immigrants in the 1880s; it was the first city to be incorporated into Broward County. A local Danish social group offers activities and get-togethers celebrating Danish culture and heritage. Learn more by visiting Friends of Denmark.
To share fun events and get-togethers with local Danes, visit Danskere i Miami. You can also view and share posts about business opportunities, networking with other Danes, and social or community news and events.
You can also find the lovely Scandinavian Center, located in nearby Davie, which was officially opened in 2011 by HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway.
Kind regards,
Jon Rosenthal, Honorary Consul.
