January, 2023. 2 Oscar Nominations for Danish Films Simon Lereng Wilmont’s documentary film “A House Made of Splinters” is nominated in the Documentary Feature Category and the short film “Ivalu” by Anders Walter and Pipaluk K. Jørgensen is nominated in the category for Live Action Short. “A House of Splinters” exposes the deep marks and casualties left by the war in Ukraine, especially among the children when families are torn apart. It follows a group of social workers who work tirelessly in an orphanage to provide a safe haven for children while state authorities determine their fate. “Ivalu” is a story from Greenland about abuse and suicide. A young girl is searching for her missing sister and is plagued by the indifference of her father.-------------------------- Leading Design Studio Opens Showroom in L.A.'s Arts District.
