Denmark will hold General Elections on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

On November 1,2022, Denmark will hold its general elections to the Danish Parliament. You can find information about the elections on the Danish Parliament’s website:

Eligible voters in the United States can cast their absentee vote at the Embassy, the General Consulates, and at the Honorary Consulates in the USA. 


Your absentee ballot must be able to reach your municipality before election day in order to be counted. For that reason, we recommend that you cast your vote as early as possible. 


Please remember to bring your Danish passport or a valid form of identification. Note the following special opening hours and appointment booking information:

 

The Embassy of Denmark in Washington:

The Embassy will be open for walk-in voters on Thursday, October 13 from 3 PM – 6 PM and Tuesday, October 18 from 3 PM – 6PM

The Consulate General in New York:

From Tuesday, October 11 to October 20, the opening hours are Monday-Friday from 10 AM – 12 PM and 2 PM – 3 PM

 

The Consulate General in Palo Alto:

The Consulate is open for voters during normal business hours, which are Monday-Friday 10 AM - 3 PM. Please find contact information for the consulate here: Denmark in Silicon Valley

General Information about Absentee Voting

For general elections and referendums in Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands, you can absentee vote at the Danish representations in the USA. Please contact the Embassy or your nearest consulate for more information and opening hours.
