Danish Consulate in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Welcome to the Honorary Royal Danish Consulate in San Juan. Our office covers the Island of Puerto Rico.
Located in the northeastern Caribbean, Puerto Rico formed a key part of the Spanish Empire.  Since the ratification of the Treaty of Paris of 1898, Puerto Rico has been under the control of the United States, becoming a Commonwealth in 1952.

Puerto Rico serves as a gateway to the continental United States and Latin America. With direct flights to major cities as New York, Miami, Madrid, London and Frankfurt, it has the busiest airport in the Caribbean and one of the most efficient maritime ports systems in Latin America.

Recent legislation promotes foreign investment through tax incentives for both, individuals and corporations. In addition to promoting Danish export and trade with the Island, we foster cultural exchange and offer assistance with visas and passports.

Although the Danish community in Puerto Rico is not large, in terms of residents, we receive a considerable amount of Danish cruise passengers every year.

Yours sincerely,
Luis N. Saldaña, Honorary Consul.
