The Representation of the Faroe Islands has an opening for an Advisor to join the team.

Main tasks and responsibilities as Advisor

 The Adviser will assist with project management, provide political analyses, SoMe campaigns, 
ensure meeting coordination, personal assistance and also administrative support, including, but 
not limited to, accountancy, casework, minutes from meetings. Special duties and responsibilities 
include preparing market access analyses, reports on political and trade-related aspects and other 
information material.

Required qualifications

• University degree in political science, development studies, economy, law or other relevant 
areas.

• Proven experience with mentioned areas or comparable responsibilities is an asset.

• Knowledge of political developments in the US.

• Service-minded.

• Versatile and flexible in nature, ready to adapt and to take individual responsibility for a 
wide range of tasks, both big and small.

• Structured and good at planning and prioritizing your work.

• Easily understand rules and procedures and act accordingly.

• Like to multitask and work in a busy environment.

• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).

• Knowledge of Faroese or another Nordic language is an advantage.

• Positive attitude and good team player.

Employment conditions

• You will be offered employment for 3 years with the possibility of extension, on a local 
contract, based on the relevant legally binding labour market rules of the United States of 
America.

• You are employed in a local position at the Embassy of Denmark, but your physical 
employment address will be at the Representation of the Faroe Islands chancellery annex. 

• Your standard working hours will be 37 hours per week.

• You will be entitled to 25 days of paid vacation per year.

• Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience and proven work-related 
results.

• Benefits and other conditions will be based on the Embassy’s Staff Handbook for local staff. 

• The basic gross monthly salary for the position – for an employee subject to US income 
taxation – is USD 5224. For a tax-exempt employee (tax exemption depending on US visa 
status and citizenship) the monthly net salary will be USD 4473. Depending on the 
candidate’s qualifications and experience an additional individual allowance may be added.
