Part-time Marketing & Communication Advisor

The Consulate General of Denmark in Houston is looking for a part-time Marketing & Communication Advisor, who will also, from time to time, function as administrative support. 

About the Position:

As a Marketing & Communication Advisor at the Consulate General of Denmark in Houston, you will play a key role in promoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ North American activities and Denmark's strongholds in the US and Canada. Your day-to-day work will involve a combination of crafting effective communication materials as part of the Trade Council of Denmark in North America’s Marcom team, while also ensuring the smooth operation of the consulate by providing ad hoc support to our administration and other trade teams at the Consulate General.

 

Key Responsibilities:

As Marketing & Communication Advisor, your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement effective communication productions to promote Denmark’s work in energy and across trade in the US and Canada.
  • Help manage and update our websites.
  • Plan, produce, and evaluate social media campaigns - especially on LinkedIn.
  • Assist in organizing events such as delegations, workshops, receptions, and promotional activities to raise awareness about Denmark in North America.
  • Ensure alignment of the Consulate General and the North American energy team’s visual identity in external communication.
  • Support our administration team with ad-hoc assignments.

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant educational background (min. bachelor's degree or equivalent).
  • Work experience in communication or marketing.
  • Experience in producing high-quality communication products (e.g., videos, graphics, articles, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Danish (spoken and written) is advantageous but not required.

Employment Conditions

  • We offer part-time employment until the end of 2025 on a local contract, with the possibility of extension.
  • Your standard working hours will be 20 hours per week, with the potential to expand to full-time employment by the end of 2025.
  • You will have a large degree of flexibility in organizing your daily working hours.
  • You will be entitled to 25 days of vacation per year.
  • Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant work experience, and proven work-related results.
