Invest in Denmark is looking for an Investment Manager who can attract innovative life sciences’ companies to Denmark. Invest in Denmark has a strong focus on several verticals within the life sciences’ sector and we prioritize sustainable foreign direct investments that help us achieve Denmark’s ambitious climate goals by 2030. 

 

Invest in Denmark is the Danish Government’s official investment promotion organization which, in close cooperation with Danish partners, works to attract foreign companies to Denmark within the knowledge intensive areas of Cleantech, Tech and Life Sciences.

 

Working in our North American team, you will be based at the Consulate General of Denmark in New York, collaborate closely with colleagues experienced in foreign direct investment promotion, and report directly to the director for North America.   

 

Job description

Invest in Denmark’s new Investment Manager in New York will identify, contact, and build a network amongst North American life sciences’ companies, in order to facilitate innovative healthcare investments to Denmark. The targets sectors include biotech/pharmaceutical companies, medical technology and digital health companies. The types of investment are greenfield establishments, European/Scandinavian headquarters, clinical trials, R&D facilities and public-private partnerships.
Invest in Denmark focuses on attracting companies that are important innovators in their respective sectors. As Investment Manager, you will interact closely with eco-systems in Denmark alongside colleagues from the North American team and specialized colleagues in Denmark to promote Danish strongholds within life sciences to key North American companies.

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Develop a pipeline of commercial leads and provide them with relevant information on business opportunities in Denmark;
  • Build and develop relationships with existing and new leads to understand investment opportunities in Denmark;
  • Undertake research and analysis to identify market trends in Denmark for North American companies;
  • Maintain and build relationships with key companies, industry players, government agencies and other stakeholders.

 

Required qualifications

  • A Bachelors’ degree (required) in relevant fields including business administration, economics, finance, or relevant STEM; advanced degree (e.g. Master’s) preferred;
  • Substantial work experience in relevant roles, including international sales, consulting or business development experience from reputable organizations;
  • Thorough understanding of company strategies, decision processes, innovation trends and technologies;
  • Knowledge of the life science industry, specific business issues and market drivers;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

 

Desired qualifications

  • A broad professional network at an appropriate level;
  • Experience from one or more of our target sectors in North America;
  • Consultancy experience.

Employment conditions

  • You will be offered employment on a contract on local terms for 2 years with the possibility of extension;
  • This is a full-time salary position - the Consulate General’s standard work week is 37 hours; but you are employed without an upper working hours limit. You will have a large degree of flexibility in organizing your own daily working hours.
  • You will be entitled to 5 weeks (25 working days) of paid holiday per year;
  • You will be covered by a workplace pension scheme;
  • You will be offered an employer and employee sponsored health insurance. So will your spouse and children under the age of 26 if you provide for him/her/them
  • The gross yearly salary for the position – for an employee subject to US income taxation – is 92,000 $. For a tax-exempt employee the yearly net salary is 73,600$. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications, an additional individual allowance may be added.
