Innovation Centre Denmark in Boston (ICDK Boston) is part of a global network of seven Innovation Centers, a joint venture between the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. Located in the heart of Boston's vibrant life science and green transition ecosystem, ICDK Boston bridges research institutions, startups, SMEs, corporates, and capital between Denmark, Boston, and the US East Coast.
Boston is home to leading universities such as Harvard and MIT, and is a pioneer in green transition, particularly in renewables and other science-based green solutions. Our mission is to accelerate Danish sustainable innovation into the US by supporting Danish companies and facilitating knowledge sharing, networks, and research cooperation.
We seeking a motivated and dynamic Innovation and Climatetech Advisor to support and advance our efforts within this field.
Position Overview
As a Innovation and Climatetech Advisor, you will be a trusted consultant, supporting Danish companies, research institutions, and public organizations with tapping into US Innovation opportunities. Your role will be crucial in identifying and creating synergies between ICDK Boston and Denmark, facilitating international partnerships, networks, and helping Danish companies and innovative technologies, while supporting strategic positioning in the US ecosystem.
Your work will primarily focus on the green transition within e.g. biosolutions, renewables, and ClimateTech where you will engage with a widespread of actors across the innovation ecosystem, including corporates, startups, accelerators, government actors, and institutional investors. You will also play a key role in nurturing the DK-US knowledge bridge, extracting and fostering knowledge sharing, partnerships and collaborations between the two regions.
Innovation Centre Denmark Boston and the Consulate of Denmark consist of a small, dynamic team of 11 people where you will be the only green transition innovation resource. Given the team's size, you can expect to be involved in a variety of tasks, including those related to high-level official visits, delegations, and other innovation-related activities. Therefore, agility and flexibility are essential in this role.
Main responsibilities
- Ecosystem Bridging: Connect and bridge the Danish and US ecosystems within sustainable life science and green transition.
- Consultancy: Provide and spearhead consulting services and delegations with Danish SMEs, startups, and corporates on green innovation opportunities in the US.
- Stakeholder Management: Identify key green transition challenges in the US, map and outreach to relevant stakeholders, and develop a stakeholder management plan.
- Business Development: Develop and execute innovation and internationalization strategies for Danish companies.
- Network Building: Establish and nurture networks, strategic partnerships, and platforms to support Danish companies.
- Event Management: Plan and execute high-level events, official programs, academies, and workshops.
Required qualifications
- A graduate or undergraduate degree in business/innovation/science.
- Work experience in consultancy, project management and/or business development, with a focus on green transition and innovation.
- Strong interest in science, technology and innovation, renewables, and/or sustainability.
- Purpose-driven mindset with the ability to spot business and innovation opportunities.
- Result-oriented, proactive, and efficient in project execution.
- Ability to work independently and within teams.
- Strong understanding of the link between innovation and business.
- Excellent social skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.

Employment conditions
- Full-time, two-year employment with the possibility of extension.
- Average of 37 hours per week, with flexibility and no upper working hours’ limit.
- 5 weeks (25 working days) of paid vacation annually.
- You will be covered by a workplace pension scheme.
- You will be offered an employer and employee sponsored health insurance. So will your spouse and children under the age of 26 if you provide for him/her/them
- The gross yearly salary for the position – for an employee subject to US income taxation – is $ 78,000. For a tax-exempt employee the net yearly salary is USD 66,000. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications, an additional individual allowance may be added.
