The Embassy of Denmark in Washington DC is looking for a full-time cleaning and housekeeping assistant for the Ambassador’s Official Residence.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Your tasks will be to assist in the daily maintenance of the Ambassador’s Official Residence, incl.:
• Cleaning and ensuring that the Residence remains in good working order and reporting faults where appropriate.  
• Assisting in setting up for functions and receptions, including preparing tables, receiving guest, serving duties and post-event tidying.

Required qualifications

• Preferably, experience with working in official households.
• Good logistic and coordination skills.
• An eye for detail.
• Versatile and flexible in nature, ready to adapt and to take individual responsibility for a range of tasks, both big and small.
• Structured and good at planning and prioritizing.
• Good command of spoken English.  
• Positive attitude and able to work effectively and supportively with colleagues, both individually and in a team.
• Ready also to work evenings a few days a week and weekends when needed.
• Able to act with discretion at all times.

Employment conditions
• You will be offered full-time employment for 3 years with the possibility of extension on a local contract.
• You are employed with a work week of an average of 37 working hours, including a 30 minutes daily lunch break, but you are employed without an upper working hour limit.
• Some evening work must be expected during e.g. high level visits.
• You will be entitled to 25 days of paid vacation per year.
• Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience and proven work-related results.
