Job description
We are looking for a Financial Grant Management Advisor, who is an open-minded team player that has solid grant management experience, preferably from a multilateral context, an intuitive flair for numbers and a solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
Main responsibilities involve working with and supporting the counsellors and policy advisors within the areas of programme planning, finance, accounting, budget, policy and compliance. The Financial Grant Management Advisor reports to the Mission’s Management team (the Permanent Representative and Deputy Permanent Representative) or a team leader designated by the Management team.
The Financial Grant Management Advisor will be responsible for the following non-exhaustive list of duties:
- Developing and managing the Mission’s budgets and accounts for development assistance.
- Ensuring accurate and complete accounting and reporting from partners; incl. that these are in accordance with the relevant guidelines and financial regulations of the MFA.
- Providing advice and guidance concerning the financial regulations and rules and accounting instructions.
- Participating in – and leading as necessary – dialogue with development partners with respect to issues concerning anti-corruption, internal control, financial oversight of sub-partners, budgeting, finance, accounting and results reporting.
- Support the Mission’s board engagement with partner organisations through the provision of analysis and advice on financial management issues and overall compliance
- Reviewing and analysing development partners’ financial statements.
- Assisting the Mission’s counsellors and policy advisors in preparing development engagement documents and other documentation, including assessment of budgets etc.
- Ensuring timely financial follow-up and results reporting on the development assistance portfolio.
- Preparing relevant documentation with respect to Danish development assistance.

Qualifications
- University degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in accounting, finance and business administration.
- A minimum 3 years professional experience in finance, accounting, budget and administration related to grant management – preferably within (Danish) development assistance and/or multilateral organisations.
- Experience in analysing audit reports and applying financial control and reporting procedures.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office-suite – in particular Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is a requirement and knowledge of Danish a strong asset.
- Knowledge of development assistance and development cooperation as well as accounting policies of international organizations would be an advantage.

Employment conditions
- Following a satisfactory initial three months trial period, you will be offered full time employment for two years on a local contract with the possibility of extension.
- You will be employed with a work week of 37 hours.
- You will be entitled to 5 weeks (25 working days) of paid vacation days per year.
- Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience and proven work-related results.
- As part of your salary, you will be covered by a workplace pension scheme.
- You will be offered reasonable coverage of sickness expenses. So will your spouse/partner/children under the age of 26 if you provide for him/her/them.
- The gross yearly salary – for an employee subject to US income taxation – is USD 87,000. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications, an additional individual allowance may be added.
- In addition, the Mission will cover the employer part of pension contribution and the employer part of medical insurance
