Junior Commercial Advisor for Biogas Team in Houston

About the Position

Based in Houston, you will be part of the Waste, Recycling, and Biogas Team in North America and working closely with colleagues in Washington, DC, and Toronto. As Junior Commercial Advisor, you will be focused on assisting Danish companies entering or expanding in the North American market and promoting Danish strongholds and solutions within biogas and waste management to North American partners and industry professionals.

 

In this role, your primary focus will be:

 

  • Supporting the Waste, Recycling & Biogas Advisory by developing strategic steps for the Danish companies in our Biogas Alliance
  • Planning and executing export promotion activities and projects across the US
  • Promote and share the Danish biogas model with North American stakeholders focusing on biogas' influence on the energy sector and the environmental footprint
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration with stakeholders within the US biogas and waste industry
  • Consulting Danish companies and organizations looking to make their mark on the US biogas and waste market
  • Help facilitate and develop collaborative opportunities such as flagship and pilot projects
  • Help plan and execute workshops and delegations to and from Denmark

 

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant education
  • Recently graduated or 1-2 years of work experience
  • Interest in building a future career in biogas or waste management
  • To succeed, it is helpful if you are a team player, ready to support, and can work closely and structured with colleagues
  • A high sense of responsibility
  • Strong command of English (written and spoken)

 

Qualifications that are not required, but helpful in order to succeed in the position

  • Knowledge of and/or experience from the US and/or Danish biogas and waste sectors
  • Experience from consultancy
  • Experience in an international environment

The ideal candidate is curious and creative and has strong analytical skills. Being open, credible, and observant are important personal characteristics, just as the ability to manage relations with a broad range of stakeholders, from government officials to Danish clients and local businesses. In addition, as the work pace is subject to fluctuation, the candidate should be able to handle multiple tasks and perform well under time pressure. Equally, managing and tracking activities in parallel is critical to succeeding in this role.

 

Employment Conditions

  • We offer full-time employment for three years on a local contract with the possibility of extension.
  • Your standard working hours will be 37 hours per week, with a large degree of flexibility in organizing your own daily working hours.
  • You will be entitled to 25 days of vacation per year.
  • Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant work experience, and proven work-related results.
