Chicago

The Position
You will be promoting The Trade Council in North America’s energy and environment activities and attracting Danish companies to explore their export potential across the Atlantic. Through the internship, you will play an important role in the Trade Council marketing and communication team, which consists of two employees located in Chicago and Houston, and you will be an integrated part of the Energy & Environment team that consist of app. 40 employees across the Danish missions in North America.

Your daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
Support the daily social media efforts (LinkedIn and Twitter)
Write articles
Develop and update marketing materials in InDesign and Photoshop
Video production and editing 
Write and setup newsletters for the Danish community in Chicago  
Administrative tasks, which also include helping out with our daily routines at the office.

The Candidate
You are enrolled at a higher educational institution focusing on communication, journalism, media, or marketing
Fluency in Danish and English (oral and written) at a high level is required
Video editing skills as well as office package skills are expected
Our ideal candidate has a flair for visual and graphical storytelling 
Experience with Photoshop and InDesign is advantageous but not a prerequisite

Houston

The Position
As an intern at the Consulate General in Houston, you will be part of a small but dynamic and result-oriented team at the newly established Consulate. You will become an integral part of the team of advisers and administrators and get a chance to work actively on export and trade promotions within Health & Life Science. Further, you will also be supporting the Marketing & Communication team. 
With a population of 28 million, Texas is the second largest economy in the US and the world’s 10th largest economy. Texas’ size and dynamic growth provides a solid potential for our overall work in helping Danish companies succeed in the US market. We provide business development services for Danish companies, including market insights, market execution and help with establishing a permanent presence on the US market. We succeed through specialization and a strong drive to make things happen.

Your Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
Market research, analysis and monitoring incl. mapping of stakeholders, competitors, potential partners, etc.
Lead generation and outreach to Danish and American customers by phone and email
Assisting with business development and execution of market strategies for Danish companies 
Planning and coordinating meeting programs and events in both Denmark and USA
Support in GPA (Global Public Affair) work with local authorities and other relevant stakeholders
Develop content for the Consulate General’s SoMe platforms
Maintain and develop website 
Develop and produce visual material such as infographics, videos and catalogues
Assist in other marketing and communications related efforts

The Candidate
You are enrolled at a higher educational institution focusing on business, economics, International Business Communications or the like
Fluency in English (oral and written) is required
Office package skills are expected
Our ideal candidate has flair for visual storytelling and preferably experience with Photoshop, PremierePro and Indesign
You are very attentive to detail and enjoys taking on new responsibilities and challenges
You possess an independent drive along with a positive attitude when engaging in new tasks
You are highly motivated, proactive and have a genuine interest in understanding and solving the business-related challenges that Danish companies face when entering/expanding in the US market

New York

The Position
Denmark In New York’s Strategic Communications and Press team works in support of the Trade Council, Invest in Denmark, and the Culture and Public Diplomacy teams to communicate Danish values and positions of strength to key stakeholders in New York and across the East Coast. 
The Strategic Communications and Press intern will assist the Head of Strategic Communications and Press in Denmark In New York’s daily communications and long-term strategic communication planning as well as engage in critical public diplomacy efforts, including:

Daily coordination of Denmark In New York’s digital media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
Preparation of graphics and memes for social media using Canva and/or Photoshop
Sourcing and conducting interviews for the DenmarkInNY Medium blog
Developing original content for Denmark In New York’s digital media channels
Press and media outreach to Danish and US journalists and outlets
Editing and managing the Denmark In Brief newsletter
Assisting with project management at high-level events including the UN General Assembly, the NYC Pride March, and meetings with key local stakeholders

The Candidate 
For this position, students from communications and journalism programs will be accorded priority consideration. Professional experience in media and journalism is a plus. 

Additional competencies include:

Knowledge of the full range of social media tools essential to planning and executing effective campaign strategies and programmes, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint as well as analytics
Ability to shoot and edit video and work on multimedia projects is an advantage
Ability to work with CMS
Ability to produce a variety of written English-language communications products in a clear, concise style
Demonstrates professional competence and understanding of subject matters including Denmark’s role in advancing the sustainability agenda, digitalization, Danish arts and culture, and Danish achievements in the life sciences

Washington DC

The Position
You will get an important role in the Embassy press and communication efforts, with special focus on social media. You will, among many other things, create content for social media focusing on Denmark, Danish values and culture, Danish companies export successes in the US, and Danish-American trade. You will create content for the Embassy homepage, media monitoring, and update and further develop the Embassy Instagram-, Facebook-, Twitter- and LinkedIn profiles.

Your daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
Create and update content for Social Media
Conduct interviews, record and edit film and other content
Participate in planning and execution of official visits, events and cultural events
Maintain the Embassy homepage: usa.um.dk
Take part in promoting Denmark’s cultural profile in the USA
Contribute to information and promotion of cultural events
Reply enquiries regarding Danish culture, Danish social conditions etc.

The Candidate
You are enrolled at a higher educational institution focusing on communication, journalism, media, or marketing.
Fluency in Danish and English (oral and written) at a high level is required. 
Video and web editing skills are an advantage. 
You are open, independent and creative
