Trade Teams in New York
Energy
The U.S. is a vital market for Danish energy solutions. As sustainable energy solutions take stage in U.S. energy strategies, Danish expertise in wind energy and Power-to-X offers a competitive edge. New York and the Northeast coast have become pivotal hubs for Danish renewable energy initiatives, with our Energy team serving as a vital link to help Danish companies establish and expand their presence in the U.S. market.
The Energy team offers in-depth market insights, strategic guidance, and hands-on support to help navigate complex regulatory landscapes and establish impactful partnerships.
Through our Wind Energy Advisory, we promote Danish expertise, assisting U.S. stakeholders in seizing North American offshore and onshore wind opportunities. Our support includes tailored feasibility studies, regulatory analysis, partnership development, and dedicated promotion of Danish companies, with organized delegations and events to showcase Denmark's cutting-edge wind
technology and project expertise.
Our Power-to-X team specializes in green hydrogen and e-fuels, enabling sector-wide transitions to sustainable energy by integrating renewable sources into existing infrastructure.
Our services span comprehensive market analysis, policy navigation, and partnership facilitation, creating pathways for low-carbon economic growth and reinforcing Denmark’s leading role in the green transition.
For instance, through our Energy teams, we operate two Danish-North American wind platforms—onshore and offshore—and the Hydrogen Alliance. These platforms organize state delegation visits, specialized market webinars, and regular 1:1 meetings with Danish affiliates, supporting B2B matchmaking, bringing Danish innovations into the U.S. context, and creating valuable transatlantic connections to advance U.S. energy goals.
Energy Efficiency
The Danish District Energy Advisory (DDEA) in New York actively supports Danish companies in navigating the North American district energy market, with a particular focus on New York and the rest of the Tri-State area. The region is increasingly prioritizing sustainable and energy-efficient solutions as part of broader efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, manage energy costs, and respond to climate change. The DDEA focuses on building and strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, academic institutions, and private sector players who are committed to advancing low-carbon district energy solutions.
In New York and the Tri-State area, the interest in district energy networks — also known as thermal energy networks — has grown as organizations and municipalities recognize their potential to improve efficiency and reduce emissions in dense urban environments. By leveraging Denmark’s expertise in sustainable district heating and cooling, we work to bridge the knowledge gap and introduce best practices in both technology and policy. Our team provides strategic advice, facilitates knowledge sharing, and connects Danish companies with relevant opportunities and partners, helping them make a lasting impact in the region’s transition to renewable and resilient energy systems. Through our efforts, we aim to position Danish companies as leaders in the sector while contributing to New York’s energy transformation.
Health & Life Science
The U.S. is a global leader in life sciences, with top research institutions, significant funding streams and a vibrant network of public and private sector stakeholders. Major hubs like Boston, Silicon Valley, and the New York Tri-State area drive innovation in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and digital health. Within this landscape, New York’s life science sector is rapidly expanding, offering unique advantages and strategic access to the North American market.
The New York Tri-State area is home to a dynamic ecosystem supported by renowned academic institutions, world leading health systems and increasing investments from both public and private sectors. The region is also home to some of the world's largest life science companies, including significant Danish presence. With access to venture capital, a skilled talent pool, and advanced R&D infrastructure, there is an ideal environment for both emerging ventures and established leaders to innovate, expand, and ultimately establish a presence in the U.S. Moreover, local government initiatives along with significant real estate and infrastructure investments have enhanced the region’s appeal by providing new lab spaces, incubators, and facilities specifically designed for life science innovation.
Public Affairs
The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been a key driver for global initiatives since 2015. The goals are aimed at reversing the effects of climate change and contributing to both sustainable, social, and economic development. With 2030 approaching fast, action is needed on all levels. The private sector plays a big part in the green, economic, and social transition. And with values of resilience, sustainability, and social responsibility strongly rooted in Danish culture, Danish companies are well equipped to take a leading role in this transition. Furthermore, as Danish companies continue to expand their businesses internationally, new opportunities for building long-term strategic partnerships and multi-stakeholder solutions emerge.
The Public Affairs team supports Danish companies in achieving their SDG strategies and prioritized goals while growing their business abroad. Our aim is to bridge the gap between the private sector and the UN in their common ambition to achieve the SDGs.
