Meet the Consul of Denmark in New York
Ambassador Helle Meinertz has built a career of over two decades of diplomatic service, during which she has gained knowledge and insight into international politics and trade affairs.
Helle Meinertz has been Consul General of Denmark in New York since August 1st, 2024. She arrived from the position as the Human Resource Director to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen.
Prior to that, Helle has served as Deputy Head of Mission, Ambassador, to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Beijing, and before that Consul General of Denmark in Munich. During her posting in Munich, Helle was the Executive Director of Innovation Centre Denmark, a collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, aimed at connecting Danish innovation to global markets.
From 2002 to 2007, Helle served as Director for Invest in Denmark in New York, Denmark’s national investment promotion agency.
Helle has extensive experience within government affairs, diplomacy, crisis management, and international trade.
Helle has served as Board Member for Meinertz A/S, Solar Heat Europe, and the Danish Social Thermal Association. Helle has also served as Advisor of Public Affairs at SolarCAP and DOVISTA, as well as Senior Advisor of Public Affairs for VKR Holding A/S.
Helle holds a Master’s Degree of Political Science from the University of Aarhus.
