SDGs and UN Procurement

The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a key driver for global initiatives aimed at climate change and sustainable development and Danish companies are well positioned to contribute with their solutions and knowledge. The UN system also represents a vast export opportunity with a total procurement budget of $20 billion annually and large demand for Denmark’s innovative quality products and sustainable solutions.

SDGs
The launch of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 has been a key driver for global initiatives aimed at reversing the effects of climate change and contributing to both sustainable social and economic development. Working alongside the Permanent Mission of Denmark to the UN, our team is lead on engaging the private sector in the SDG agenda through our “SDG Hub Denmark – Sustainable Business in Action”. We support Danish companies in contributing to the SDGs and achieving their global public affairs goals while growing their business abroad.

UN Procurement
The UN system also represents a vast export opportunity with a total procurement budget of $20 billion in 2019. Denmark is the 8th largest supplier to the UN and Danish companies exported for $630 million to the UN organizations in 2019. The demand for innovative quality products, sustainable solutions and partnerships provides rich opportunities for Danish companies and our team helps Danish companies gain a foothold and expand their exports.
