Danish Consulate in Boston, Massachusetts

Welcome to the Royal Danish Consulate in Boston which covers the states of Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Northern Connecticut.

Boston has many similarities with Copenhagen.  It is a large metropolitan harbor city, featuring historic and modern architecture, vibrant research and education at world renowned colleges and universities, and an entrepreneurial spirit in high-tech and biotech sectors.

Danes living in the area benefit from a number of programs:

  • Danish Society of Massachusetts organizes cultural and social events throughout the year, including Fastelavn, St.Hans and Christmas celebrations. The Society also publicizes a newsletter and has an active Danish language program for children and adults.
  • The Scandinavian Living Center in West Newton, MA is a place to connect with the Scandinavian community . It is an assisted living and community center with a coffee shop and library. The library is open every Saturday from 11 am - 3 pm except for certain holidays.
  • The Nordic Calendar lists local cultural, social and business events in New England.

Yours sincerely,
Jacob Friis, Honorary Consul.
