Danish Consulate in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

The Virgin Islands, formerly The Danish West Indies, have a rich history and a diversified culture. The islands were originally inhabited by native Taino Indians, then controlled by more than 7 different foreign powers,  and then by the sovereign nation of Denmark for over 200 years. In 1917, The Virgin Islands were sold and placed under the jurisdiction of the United States of America.

The islands have more than 160,000.00 inhabitants, and attract many guest visitors every day as a tourist destination with sunny Caribbean hospitality. The islands are blessed with an abundance of natural unsurpassed beauty, pristine white beaches, warm weather and tropical breezes.

Sincerely,
Søren Blak, Honorary Consul.
