Welcome to the Consulate General of Denmark in Houston 

Houston has the third-largest consular corps in the nation after New York and Los Angeles. There are 92 consulates in Houston. Consular officials develop economic, commercial, scientific and cultural relations between the countries they represent and the area in which they serve.

The Danes of Houston formed an exciting Danish Club of Houston where fellow Danes, meet, greet and assimilate in various social activities. Houston also host business-networking opportunities via the Danish American Chamber of Commerce Southwest.

The Texas Medical Center: As the largest medical complex in the world, the Texas Medical Center is an internationally recognized community of healing, learning and discovery. 

The James A. Baker, III Institute for Public Policy:  Since its inception in 1993, the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy has established itself as one of the premier nonpartisan public policy think tanks in the country. The institute ranks 24th among U.S. think tanks and 17th among university-affiliated think tanks worldwide, according to a 2011 study by the University of Pennsylvania's Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program. As an integral part of Rice University, one of the nation’s most distinguished institutions of higher education, the Baker Institute has a strong track record of achievement.

The Port of Houston: The Port of Houston has been instrumental in the city of Houston's development as a center of international trade. It is home to a $15 billion petrochemical complex, the largest in the nation and second largest in the world. About 100, steamship lines offer service, linking Houston with 1,053 ports in 203 countries. The ship channel also intersects a very busy barge traffic lane, the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.
