Passports for Adults

Please note that you need to make an appointment before you can show up at your nearest possible place of issue. An appointment must be made for each adult.

Processing time for adult passports is approximately 4 weeks, and 5 weeks during peak periods.

Documents to be submitted: 

  1. ONE APPLICATION FORM PER PERSON, completed and signed.
    Download form.

  2. YOUR CURRENT PASSPORT. The Passport Office does not need to keep your passport while your application is being processed, you may use it for travel until your new passport arrives.

  3. PERMANENT REGISTRATION CARD OR VALID VISA/I-94 ONLINE REGISTRATION OR US CERTIFICATE OF NATURALIZATION if you became a US citizen after September 1, 2015.

  4. ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE OF DANISH NATIONALITY, if born outside of Denmark or if reacquired Danish citizenship after September 1, 2015.
  5. FEE.       NewYork and Chicago:  Cash or Money Order ONLY.                             

                      Silicon Valley: Money order or credit card - no cash payment accepted 

NO PHOTO REQUIRED as biometrics will be recorded.

All requested documents must be in Danish or English or a notarized English translation.

NATIONALITY: Please be advised that if you have a Danish CPR-number and are therefore registered in the CPR-Register, you must be registered as a Danish citizen.  If you are registered with another nationality, you will not be able to apply for a new passport and will have to contact the “Folkeregister” in the municipality where you lived prior to leaving Denmark or where the registration took place.

NAME CHANGE: If you have changed your name (for example due to marriage) and never notified the “Folkeregister” your passport will be issued according to the information listed in the “Folkeregister”.

If you cannot pick-up your passport, the passport will be sent to your home or business address - at your own risk - via Federal Express. In this case an additional fee will be charged in either cash or money order (Silicon Valley money order/creditcard).
