In December 2013, the public is invited to join the Corcoran College of Art + Design in partnership with the Embassy of Denmark for the fifth Creative Christmas exhibition on view at the Danish Ambassador’s Residence for a FREE, one-day-only Open House on December 12 from 5-7 pm.

Exhibition by Corcoran College of Art+Design
The exhibition with water as a theme is designed for the Royal Danish Embassy’s annual Creative Christmas celebration by 13 graduate students from the Corcoran College of Art + Design.

For two nights of private events on December10th and 11th and for the public Open House on the 12th, the residence, a 1960s period home designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in collaboration with Walter Gropius, is transformed to showcase the students’ concept of water.

Unique chance to see the Embassy residence
A treat for architects, art enthusiasts and cultural buffs alike, the Open House is a one-day-only opportunity to visit the Residence of the Ambassador – a home rarely open to the general public.

Visitors is able to see a vast collection of original Modern Danish furniture set in the architecturally magnificent 1960's period home, designed by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen in collaboration with Walter Gropius of the Bauhaus Movement.
