The Trade Council in Atlanta has the agricultural machinery and food and food processing sector as one of its main focus. Within this sector also lies the American aquaculture sector.
USA is the world's second largest agricultural market and during the last couple of years the American agriculture has experienced an extremely positive growth. This has had a very beneficial effect on related sectors such as the food and food processing sectors as these has developed in line with the agriculture during the last 50 years. The agriculture and food and food processing sectors therefore holds a lot of opportunities for Danish manufacturers within these sectors.
In 2011 the American agriculture exported products worth of $137 billion which is the highest level since the 1970s. As a result the demand for agricultural machinery, equipment and technology has risen and opened great opportunities for producers of such products. Especially manufacturers of quality and specialised machinery are welcomed in the American market as value-adding equipment is mostly wanted by the American farmers and manufacturers. For Danish companies there is a great unexploited potential within this segment.
In order for Danish companies to take part in this rewarding development, the Trade Council in Atlanta has increased its focus on the value chain 'from farm to table'. This entails everything from the harvesters and tractors on the field, stable systems, feed, food processing machines, product labelling, distributing the processed food to the retail trade and so on.
Our value chain allows us a sector specific knowledge as well as a sector specific experience and network in Atlanta, Georgia. This has proven to be extremely valuable for Danish companies that wish to expand to the American market.
