Meet Denmark's new Consul General in New York, Ambassador Anne Dorte Riggelsen

Anne Dorte Riggelsen assumed the post as Consul General of Denmark in New York on August 15, 2015. 
“New York is one of the most dynamic and influential cities in the world, and I am proud of the longstanding, close ties between Denmark and New York, in trade and investment relations as well as in cultural exchange.”

“I am looking forward to furthering collaborations in a number of areas where New York and Denmark can benefit mutually; solutions in climate, energy, life sciences and ICT, to mention a few, but also in our solid tradition in design, the arts and food culture.”

About the Consul General
Anne Dorte Riggelsen comes from the position as Denmark’s Ambassador to France.

From 2007-2009, Anne Dorte Riggelsen was Head of the Administration & Services Secretariat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and part of the Ministry's senior management. Prior to this position, she was Under-Secretary for European Affairs.

From 1992 - 1995, Anne Dorte Riggelsen was stationed in New York, working as First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Denmark to the United Nations. She has been looking forward to returning to the city.

Anne Dorte Riggelsen holds a Master of Law from the University of Copenhagen and a postgraduate degree in Law from the College of Europe in Bruges.
