Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi from The Metropolitan Opera presents the Danish National Symphony Orchestra to the San Francisco audience at two concerts in the Luisi M. Davies Concert Hall on 2 and 3 April.

Maestro Fabio Luisi is already a well-known name to the San Francisco classical audience from successful performances with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, resulting in statements such as “breathtaking” and “invigorating” in SF Gate about his San Francisco debut in 2008. On 2 and 3 April 2017, Maestro Lusi will be bringing his new Europaen orchestra, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, to San Francisco together with soloists Arabella Steinbacher and local Californian soprano Deborah Voigt.
Known for its special democratic structure and distinctive Nordic sound, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra would seem to have found an ideal partner in Luisi, who is enjoying his new position with the Danish orchestra as well as Scandinavian culture and lifestyle in general.
Luisi himself explains his relationship with the orshestra this way:
“From the beginnig, there has been an extraordinary artistic chemistry between the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and myself. I feel that we have a very deep mutual understanding and that we trust each other completely.”
